Amarillo North Lions Club
provides community in Amarillo since 1954. As a part of Lions International,
Texas Lions, and Panhandle Lions we do service
projects to help those in need. Will Rogers Elementary
school was adopted as one of our community
organization along with many other non profit
organizations. Our 21club members attends most Local,
District, State,
meetings to keep informed of what needs are needed. We support the Texas Lions Camp(Kerrville Texas)
(Lionscamp.org) were each year kids with disabilities
can forget about disabilities and enjoy Camp activities.
We have been a 100% club supporting the list of
district projects for several years. Amarillo North
Lions is well know for their support of activities in
and around Amarillo. We recycle eyeglasses along with
the state through Texas Lions Eyeglass Recycle Center
in Midland TX. We send thousands of used eyeglasses
over to 3rd world countries to help improve their eye
sight. Locally we assist Boys and Girl Town with a
Coat and Shoe shopping event each November to make
Christmas warmer and more pleasant. Our club sponsors
Will Rogers School to provide hope to students of
lower income parents. We reward the students for good
grades and graduation to the next school at the end of
the year. This year we supported a new event for
SuperKids Derby race in which disabled kids were given
the support needed to participate in a wood car derby
race.
Our member have received
many local, state and international awards for
work in Lionism and Community Support. This clubs
is moving hard to make things happen. All of the
funds raised are used to support community
projects as established by Lions Club
International. We are luckly that our entire
membership supports our projects and activities.
Joining Amarillo North Lions is where
volonteering becomes action. Consider
this an inventation to meet with the club on next Wednesday 12:00 Noon
